In the proposed project, we plan to expand the low-cost monitoring units network for the whole country, increase public awareness, help to implement an existing air quality standard, and create a base for adopting a stronger air quality standard in Uzbekistan.

Our team seeks to implement a hybrid air quality monitoring network to accelerate air quality improvement in Uzbekistan through innovative solutions and increased public awareness. The network includes a single reference-grade unit used primarily to verify data quality and calibration and more than 60 low-cost air-quality monitoring units to measure real-time PM2.5 concentrations in Uzbekistan. The innovative low-cost monitoring units transmit data to cloud platforms for future analysis and public visualisation. By making this data accessible, the project aims to empower citizens to make decisions and support policymakers in implementing the targeted PM2.5 standard.
